A Course for Pregnancy Help Medical Clinics — Nurses, Medical Personnel and Executive Directors
Purpose of Course This course is designed to equip the leadership and staff of pregnancy help medical clinics to achieve excellence in the provision of ultrasound services to clients.
Course Description This is a three day course with two tracks, medical and management, to address both medical and administrative concerns. On day one, both tracks meet together. Days two and three focus on workshops designed specifically for each track.
Medical Course Content This course follows the guidelines from the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) for training in limited obstetrical ultrasound. NIFLA is an approved continuing education provider (California Board of Registered Nursing provider #14563). This course is approved for 18.4 Contact Hours and is transferable to other states.
Note: This course is the beginning of training for nurses to gain competency in performing limited obstetrical ultrasound scans. NIFLA recommends that after this training each nurse should perform an additional 50-75 supervised scans. Information on on-site and other training opportunities is presented at each course.
Course Information • Fee: $650 for NIFLA members ($750 non-members) • Meals: breakfast, lunch and afternoon breaks are provided each day and are included with your registration fee • Airfare/Hotels: airfare and hotel accomodations are not included with your registration fee • More Details: a confirmation e-mail with hotel and airport information will be sent upon receipt of registration fee as well as the name of attendee — a complete packet of course and hotel information will be sent approximately six weeks before the course dates to the address listed on the registration. If payment and name have not been submitted info regarding the course will NOT be sent until they have both been received in our office.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If your center has arranged for additional on-site scanning training through Sonography Now or some other local provider, your nurses may be eligible for two-day training (Thursday-Friday) at a reduced cost. Registration online is NOT AVAILABLE for this special training. Cancellation Policy • Three weeks or more in advance of course dates, no charge to transfer to a future course, $75 handling charge for a refund. • Less than three weeks in advance of course dates, $125 handling charge to transfer to a future course, $125 handling charge for a refund.
